24-hour format HH:MM. The rising sign turns roughly every two hours and carries the heaviest weight of the three factors, so this is the input the reading is most sensitive to.

This reads the constitution from your chart, not from a questionnaire. Nothing is asked about your body, your habits or your health.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the three doshas?

Vata, pitta and kapha are the three humours of Ayurveda. Classical practice reads a person as carrying all three in some proportion, with one usually dominant and a second in support, and it is that proportion rather than a single label that the texts describe. This calculator returns all three shares so the blend is visible, not just the dominant name.

How is the dosha read from a birth chart?

Three factors are scored, each one carrying a classical rule that says it shows the native humour: the sign rising at birth, the sign the Moon occupies, and the strongest graha by shadbala. Every factor comes back with the text, chapter and verse behind it. The weighting that blends the three into one set of shares is a RoxyAPI convention, published inside the result, because the primary texts give the factors and never the weighting.

Is this a dosha quiz?

No, and deliberately so. A questionnaire asks about your body, your appetite, your sleep and your health, and infers a constitution from the answers. This calculator asks only for a date, a time and a place of birth, and reads the constitution from the chart those produce. Nothing about your body or your health is collected, and no questionnaire is offered.

Is an Ayurvedic constitution reading medical advice?

No. Every result carries the same statement: this is for general wellness and cultural interest only, it is not medical advice, and it is unrelated to the diagnosis, cure, mitigation, prevention or treatment of any disease or condition. Consult a qualified professional for anything health related.

This reading uses the same engine behind our Ayurveda API. The constitution from a sidereal chart, the dinacharya day computed from a real sunrise, the ritucharya season from a real solar ingress, and a catalogue that names the work, chapter and verse behind every entry.
