Janam Kundali (also called Janam Patri, birth chart, or horoscope) is a map of planetary positions at your exact birth moment. It shows where Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Rahu, and Ketu were placed across the 12 rashis. The Lagna (ascendant) determines your 1st house and entire chart structure.

In the South Indian format used here, each box represents a fixed rashi (zodiac sign) and planets are placed in the rashi they occupy. In the North Indian format, each box represents a house (bhava) and rashis rotate based on the ascendant. South Indian format is standard in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Andhra Pradesh.
